DIY Tinsel Wreath

Tinsel and fairly lights turned into a holiday wreath. It doesn't get more festive than that. This very simple and inexpensive DIY project will be a great addition to your holiday decor.

All you are going to need is some tinsel in the color of your choice and battery LED lights to match, masking tape and a foam wreath. Some of these item might even be laying around from some old decorations that don't get used anymore.

Lay down your foam wreath and decide where you want the lights to start and end. The ending point will need to be in the back at either the top or the bottom, to keep it hidden and secure. Start taping your lights down and continue to wrap them all the way around the wreath, taping as you go.

Next you can start wrapping your tinsel around the wreath, starting where you started your  battery light string. Be sure to adjust your lights as you wrap your tinsel so they aren't hidden.

Secure your tinsel and use the excess to hang it up on your door at the desired length. Then turn your lights on and enjoy.

LED Battery Lights

There has been some great improvement in the last few years when it comes to battery powered lights. Now, All American Christmas Company is proud to offer a 3 different types of battery operated led lights. All three types of LED battery lights have all the benefits of other LED lights strings, no heat, low power usage and bright, true colors. You are going to get so much from these little light strings, especially if you are planning to use them in crafts.
M5 LED
Concave LED
20 count Concave and M5 style LED battery lights come in several color options, all bright and true to name. Concave battery lights use 3 'AA' batteries and you will get approximately 25 hours before the brightness changes. There is a 4 inch bulb spacing and 12 inch lead from battery pack to the first bulb. Concave and M5 LED light strings are great for crafts, such as Lighted Canvases.

Ultra Thin LED
18 count ultra thin LED battery lights are similar to other LED battery lights but the bulb and wire styles are much different, being much smaller and thinner than regular LED light strings. These also come in several color and are ultra bright. Ultra thin LEDs use 3 'AA' batteries and have a 4 inch bulb spacing and 12 inch lead. Ultra Thin LED lights are great for costumes.

If you are considering doing some lighted crafts or fun costumes, these little lights might be perfect. Easy to use and no extension cords to worry about.

New Wide Angle LED Battery Sets Price

We've dropped the prices on our 5mm Wide Angle battery light sets! Now they are $6.39 a string! Our Battery Christmas lights are a major upgrade over the old style of battery powered mini lights, LED battery sets last over 25 hours with fresh Alkaline "AA" batteries!

LED sets are great for weddings, center pieces, parties, and other places where you need light without a easy to reach power source. I use them to light my jack o lanterns during the halloween season, using these keeps your pumpkin from drying out from using a candle!

We offer our battery powered LED light strings in a variety of colors in the wide angle bulb style, we are going to be updating our M5 and Short M5 Battery powered LED sets. On the right you can see the bulb next to a US Dime and a ballpoint pen. They are very small and last a long time on a few batteries they are great for small projects and even work in halloween costumes! They come in a variety of colors just like other battery sets.

Floralytes are small battery powered LED lights, they come in a variety of styles and are a cool way to add accent lighting just about anywhere and will look great for parties, proms and especially weddings. You can use them in bottles, under glass beads, in greenery, in tulle, inside flower arrangements or vases, pretty much anywhere a little accent lighting could spice up your decorations there is a place to set these cool battery powered lights.

We currently have two types of these products.

  • Floralyte II - A Small battery powered LED bulb with On/Off switch. Small 3/4" wide product great for using in smaller spaces. Non replaceable battery.

Both of these Battery LED light products are perfect for crafts and decorating alike and the coolest thing about products that run off batteries you aren't tied to an outlet so you can really let those creative juices flow. Making the switch to LED Christmas Lights

Switching from Incandescent to LED Christmas lights may seem intimidating if you still haven't made the switch yet. The higher price tag and non traditional look of LED may seem a little, off putting, at first but once you compare the differences you'll be more than ready to jump on the bandwagon! I've blogged many times about how little power Christmas LED lights and I think most of you have gotten the point (if not check out some of my other posts on LED light strings), so this blog won't filled with complete technobabble!

Christmas LED lights come in a variety of shapes and sizes, most of which are based off classic bulb shapes we've seen all our lives. Below I will list some of the common shapes and styles of Christmas LEDs:

C6 Lights - These have the shape of those classic C7/C9 bulbs we grew up with but are noticeably smaller. Great for indoor Christmas trees!
C7 Lights - The classic C7 bulb never goes out of style, we offer LED C7 bulbs in both premade sets and screw in type bulbs. Use a fraction of the power will the same great look!
C9 Lights - Just like C7 the C9 is a classic bulb that will always look great. C9 are perfect for outdoor jobs and have that classic look that can't be beat!
M5 Lights - M5 LED lights look like Mini lights (Twinkle, Fairy, or Italian lights to some). You can string a ton of these together! These LED lights are perfect for ANY application.
Wide Angle 5mm Lights - Our FAVORITE, the Wide Angle LED Christmas lights have a bright bulb with a concave bulb that can be seen from nearly any angle. The best LED Christmas light bulb in our opinion
G12 Lights - G12 are often called raspberry lights because they look like the little fruit. These are cool bulbs that would look great mixed into trees and garlands!
These are just some of the LED Christmas lights styles available, but you can use this simple break down as a spring board to plan our your holidays lighting. If you are worried about the upfront cost we recommend buy a few sets for some small projects and try them out, they won't go bad!

Craft Lights! Perfect for bottles and glass blocks.

We here at All American Christmas Co. are proud to carry the best mini light and LED craft light strings. For Mini lights our 20 count and 35 count light strings both are made with only one plug, we call these sets No End Connector sets (or NEC for short). These light strings have the male plug with up to 3 feet of lead wire (wire from the plug to the first bulb) and they end with a bulb instead of a female plug. So with these sets you cannot plug them end to end, which makes them great for decorating glass blocks or bottles.

Our 20's and 35's, as we call them, come in a variety of bulb colors with all the standard mini light colors being represented. These lights come on both Green and White wire. These strings are relatively short so you wont have a mile of wire inside your craft project, or have to have lights hanging outside the craft either, using sets that made for this type of project will help make a cleaner looking end product! Our 3 foot lead sets are great because you don't have to use and extension cord to plug the craft in in most instances!

We have a couple options for LED craft sets, we have two 25 light count sets that come on either white or green wire with Warm White leds. The sets are NEC and are a low power & long life alternative to mini lights. They have a higher upfront cost but are going to last over 10 times longer! We also have battery powered LED sets, they will last Approx 30 hours with 3 AA batteries, and would be great for decorating without having to worry about a wire running down the wall.

Battery Powered Christmas Lights...

Battery powered light sets have come a long way in recent years. The first battery light strings used large "C" or "D" cell batteries, so you get a rather large battery pack and not very long battery life with standard Mini light style bulbs. Now www.aachristmas.com only carries Battery LED sets that run on "AA" light sets. LED lights really take advantage of the battery power supply, in our own in house test we ran a set for about 25 hours before we noticed any sort of brightness difference. Even after the 25 hour burn time the sets were still completely bright enough to be used.

Our Battery powered LED light sets have the following specs :
  • 20 Warm White Concave Style LED bulbs
  • Approx. 7' Strand Length with 4" bulb spacing
  • 12" Lead from battery pack to first bulb
  • Use 3 "AA" batteries
The only disadvantage to these LED sets are the upfront price, but when you start to think about how much you'll save in hassle and shelling out the cash for batteries they really pay for themselves in the long run. Their construction and power savings are really want make these sets special.
