The Many Non Christmas Uses for...Christmas Lights!

In our industry we call pretty much everything Christmas lights, Mini light strings, LED light strings, C7 bulbs, C9 bulbs, etc but just because they found favor lighting houses during the Christmas holiday season doesn't mean that's their only time to be used. I talked to the boss man about many mini light strings that get tossed and he guessed hundreds of thousands, and I'd say he's right. That is a sad thing because Christmas trees, garlands, and on the hedges outside aren't the only places/things you can use Christmas lights to decorate. Below I've give a little rundown on other uses for these light strings.

Other Holidays - Valentines, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, 4th of July, etc. Most all holidays have some sort of decoration than can be easily accented by adding some light strings. For outdoor parties or holidays where you spend time outdoors adding some C7 or C9 light strings around a deck or patio is a great option for some quick decorations that look great and are really easy to install. The great thing about using C7 bulbs or C9 bulbs is that you can easily mix and match colors to suit the holiday, or they are just a classic look you can just as easily be happy with using all clear bulbs.

Parties - A lot of the same rules that apply for decorating for Holidays apply to parties. Hanging Mini Christmas Lights around a deck or patio is a great way to add light accent lighting, you can again use screw in style C7 or C9 lights for the same effect. Running Christmas Lights around the ceiling of a party is a cool way to keep the house lights dim and add some cool lighting for socializing with friends. Using strings of mini lights to line drive ways or paths is another great way to use old Christmas light strings.

Proms/Weddings - Hanging Christmas lights for formal events is a great way to add a little accent and mood lighting. Net lights, Curtain lights, and Mini lights are great for putting along walls or across ceilings. You can hide the wires by using White Wire Christmas lights and putting some sort of sheer fabric in front of the strings. This effect looks great behind tables, to hide things on walls, to shut off rooms or hide doorways. Hanging long mini lights across the ceiling can give just the right amount of lighting, its great for tents outdoors for for lighting up for a reception, you can greatly dim or maybe even turn off overhead lights. That gives you a starry night effect that looks great for pictures!

Crafts - We carry a selection of what we call craft lights, these are short Mini Light ( or LED Christmas light) with bulb count ranging from 10 to 35 lights. These sets are perfect for lighting Glass blocks or lighting wine bottles! They can be used for any small lighting/craft project and are very affordable.
